Happy happy happy first day of spring my friends! with the Nebraska winter and teases of warm weather during spring break it seemed like my favorite season of the year would never fully arrive! but it’s here and boy do i have treats upon treats for you! so get ready for a season filled not only with warm sunshine and blooming flowers; but also plenty of posts filled with smiles and spring colors!

My buddy Rachel and I made the most of our spring break last week on one of the nicest days and did some of our favorite things and it was one of my favorite days ever. we’re both big suckers for JCrew and Whole Foods so a lunch date was to be in session. we headed off to Whole Foods and picked up some super yummy salad and couldn’t resist sneaking a peek at the dessert section and when fruit tarts caught our eyes you betcha those were snatched up. on the way out we couldn’t help but stop by the flowers and pick some up (even though they were later given to dominic when i asked him to our Prom, because hey, boys deserve flowers too!) we sat on the steps of my old grade school and ate and it was a wonderful time filled with good food and lots of laughs.

i loved catching up with Rach and eatin’ real good food while doing so! so i hope you take the chance this spring to make a little picnic date with your buddy, it’s well worth it! Have an amazing start to spring!

wow hi friends long time no type! spring break has sadly left me and school is back in full swing. luckily this girl has tomorrow off otherwise i’m not quite sure if i would make it out alive. this week was crazy stressful, as fast as it went. booked with after school activities, loads of homework, and the stress of a Marian Field Day. (if you don’t know, it’s my school’s tradition of school spirit coming up in April, more details to come) To some it up this weakend has taken all my energy and then some, so i thought i would spend Thursday night (practically Friday, Whoo!) to just kinda catch up and chat with you all on what allison nicole has been up to (or ally, honestly just call me ally)

FEELIN// junior yearish. if that’s a feeling. if not i’m making it one because there are sure enough feeling to associate with it to make it its own. it’s bitter sweet realizing that there are less than three semesters left of high school. trust me some days i am more than ready to move into college and other days i’m super glad that i’m only 16. the stress for sure gets to you some days though and i’ve concluded my best remedy is just some little treat yo selves (so basically starbucks) and some comfy dates with my bed.

EATIN// can i get a little bit of love for sweet potato fries because hello lovelies. now i’m an avid french fry foodie. like any day french fries will not do, they’ve gotta be good. and sweet potato fries, those are good. add some sea salt on top and praise the Lord. If i have a sweet potato itself on hand (quite honestly that is pretty rare) i will chop that up and just bake those in the oven until they’re crispy with some olive oil, but Trader Joe’s has some frozen ones that you just pop in the oven that are equally as bomb.

SHOPPIN// so there is a LUSH opening in my town in late May and let’s just say the money is already being saved. also my target addiction has become such an issue and now that all the cute easter stuff is out i can’t resist myself ( i say this about utterly every holiday if we’re being honest here but they’re all so fricken cute)

LOVIN// my pjs sets. this is such a given i won’t continue i think you all understand my love.

well there’s a little catch-up! hope you have a good day tomorrow for those of you in school! my day off will be spent working on some sweet stuff for you!

Happy Friday my friends!

I’ve been reading this kind of post on other blogs and finding it more and more funny every time i come across it: a break down of what really goes on during instagram photography sessions. because trust me i’ve been caught way too often with the “ally are you kidding me?” phrase when taking pictures of the most random things from the most random angles #oops #sorryJ.CrewWorkersWhoWereStaringYourShoesWereVeryPhotogenic. dominic and i got ice cream downtown last night and he jokingly teased me with “aren’t you gonna take a picture?” so of course we stopped in the middle of the street even after he begged to keep going claiming he was joking (i don’t think he was joking he loves being featured secretly) so here is my little version sharing all of my very embarrassing and way too common white girl photo ops and failures of what i’m TRYING (trying is the key word there) to portray:

what I want you to think:

it is winter and snowing so i’m casually drinking my coffee outside on this super nice snow day standing up in the middle of my front yard with no coat on! so causal! so fun! 

what’s actually happening:

its freakin below zero and my toes are frozen and this coffee tastes like dog poop because putting in too much creamer would’ve ruined the color of the coffee and i think my neighbors are about to ask me if i want a coat

what i want you to think:

so hip, so cool, what great lighting coming from my artsy day at Starbucks just blogging my life away

what’s actually happening:

the sun was in my eyes and i looked like a loner sitting in the corner of Starbucks because we had no wifi at my home and i rearranged those notebooks probably two hundred times and i was pretending to text so no one laughed at me while taking this

what a cute cupcake date! so pink and green! very lilly! so fun!

what’s actually happening:

i literally stopped in the middle of the street for this one and it took all my self control not to eat these cupcakes later to find out dominic took this exact same picture already when i was in the bathroom and it looked ten times better than this one NOT FAIR THAT IS NOT HOW THIS WORKS. (also slightly proud he even thought to take a picture like that, true blogger boyfriend)

what i want you to think:

such a cute spring outfit! loving life in this warm weather hence why i’m wearing a dress and sunglasses! what cute jewelry! so spring!

what’s actually happening:

i literally have nike shorts on under this dress and tennis shoes on and i’m wearing sunglasses indoors. this is taken against my bathroom wall and i didn’t even want the monogram to be in the picture but i was home alone and couldn’t figure out how to take it off by myself…
