January Recap

Okay so I don’t know if it’s the fact that it’s the first day of my FAVORITE month of the year, the fact the polar vortex is over and I currently have my bedroom WINDOW OPEN (!!!!), or the fact that I just tried on my new order of J.Crew denim and they look dang good but ya girl is in the best mood to sit down and recap January for you all!

I saw it all over social media and I agree completely, January was an entire year within itself! KU didn’t go back until the 22nd, and literally the past two weeks of school have somehow felt like an entire semester to me! I am in my third semester in the School of Education, which means I get the pleasure of only having T/Th classes, but 7 straight hours of them nonetheless. We are all anxious to get our classroom placements for practicum this upcoming semester in 3rd-5th grade, I’ll make sure to keep you updated! (Speaking of that, do I have any other Elementary Ed majors that would like me to do posts dedicated to questions or school topics?! I’m a major nerd about it, but if anyone is interested I’d love to!)

In addition to school, I have spent a good amount of the time back at the Union in the Panhellenic office. I’m not sure if the news was ever even shared on here, but I was elected President of Panhellenic for KU in October, and am ecstatic to hold the position after getting to do PR for Panhellenic last semester and absolutely falling in love with the community at KU and having yet another thing to put my energy into!

I did a little cabin fever cleaning during the insane cold the past few weeks and finally got around to hanging my beautiful prints from The Type Setter!  She let me choose the cutest four prints to display in my room at Alpha Chi and the navy and pink one’s I found were absolutely perfect. Like do we SEE that gingham?! *heart eyes here*

Lastly, I’ve been drinking..ALL the coffee. It’s been too dang cold for my iced coffee love, so i’ve been having to get creative in the latte department. We also got oat milk at AXO here and I am PUMPED. I wish so badly for the health benefits I liked almond milk but I just absolutely hate it and refuse to drink coffee if it’s in there. However, I am in love with oat milk and will add it to everything. I wanna find some new fun coffee shops to visit on KC dates as well so send them my way! Current favorite is Made In KC’s cereal milk lattes….wow!

Also! I’m selling so so much on my Poshmark page! @allykmiecik ! Comment on any item you have your eyes on that you found my page from my blog and I’ll discount it for you!! Anything for my readers 😉

Well, that’s all for January! Until next time, and onto Valentine’s Day!

xoxo, Ally

Christmas Wishlist 2018

It’s post Thanksgiving break so that means it’s *finally* socially acceptable for me to start posting Christmas content…right? Right. I have plans for gift guide to come, and a post on how my roommate and I decked out our room in the sorority house for Christmas, but until then I’ve rounded up a few of my own wished for items for Christmas this year. As I’ve gotten older it always seems harder to pick out things I want that I can get daily use out of.

Evelyn Henson Prints /// J. Crew Slippers /// Hoodie Allen Crewneck /// Outdoor Voices Shorts ///  Monogrammed Locket ///  Dry Bar Clips

Evelyn Henson Print: The second I saw she came out with an “Omaha” version I knew I needed to get my hands on one. I am in LOVE with the NYC one as well. Maybe matching mugs for both as well? hehe.

Monogrammed Locket: This is currently UNDER $50 from Kate Spade and I am obsessed with how classic and elegant it is. One of the very first Christmas gifts I ever remember requesting as a little kid was a locket, so finding a more grown up version felt so fitting and quite nostalgic.

Dry Bar Clips: Okay. So I have MAYBE the thickest hair in the world and it’s usually pretty unruly so styling it at all rarely happens usually because its such a hassle to get all of it done. These bad boys would come in handy way too often. Plus my obsession with DryBar ever since my experience in NY is beyond real. I truly wish there was a location close enough for me to just ask for that for Christmas!!!

Hoodie Allen Sweatshirt: It’s no secret Hoodie is one of my all time favorite artists after my 4 hour trip solely to see him perform live for the second time. I’m not usually one for artist merch but I have a HUGE soft spot for this comfy sweatshirt, large for snuggling in please! 😉

J.Crew Slippers: So I REALLY want a short pair of Uggs solely to keep my feet warm walking to class, but don’t want to wear them around the house if I’m gonna be wearing them outside. That’s why I have my eye on these navy slippers (duh.) How I’ve gone so long without owning them is beyond me.

Outdoor Voices Shorts: So the second I saw these I had to have them. I mean. Fleece. Shorts. C’mon. Wow. I am a HUGE OV supporter since Sammy from Preptista started working with them and ordered a pair of their leggings, but think these are my new favorite product of theirs.

I won’t lie…my #1 wanted item is this new invention from Shark Tank I found called “The Comfy.” Google it and TRY telling me you don’t know want one too. & they come in pink??? Sign. Me. Up.

Let me know what YOU’RE wishing for in the comments! Until next time!

Xoxo, Ally

{three} Evelyn Henson will forever be one of my favorite artists and her newest HOLIDAY greeting cards hit her shop the other day and they’re seriously TOO darling and I want every single one! Specifically eyeing this cutie!

{four} J.Crew is having 40% off with code “BOO” right now and I mayyyy have to use that as an excuse to snag this fleece!

{five} After Brenna and I made a pit stop at the tea house in STL, I’ve been dying to find some teas to make in my room in Kansas! Shoot me an email or drop a comment on this post with any good loose leaf tea brands!

{six} I had to update my phone to the newest iOS after it was freaking out on me earlier this week, BUT there are SOO many new emojis involved in the update! Hello, meet your newest most frequent user of that bagel emoji!

{seven} One of my favorite things in the blog world is getting to watch bloggers I’ve loved forever team up with brands I’ve loved forever. Julia from Lemon Stripes will FOREVER be one of my favorite gals to catch up on, and her daughter Amalia is the stinkin’ cutest as well. She recently collaborated with Dudley Stephens to make an ice blue version of their pieces and I am OBSESSED.

{eight} I don’t even have words to explain how badly I want this.

{nine} I’ve started to be super interested in the faux leather pants trend that was popular last year but looks like is gonna stick around for this year too and these Free People pants (UNDER $40 RIGHT NOW) may be the perfect way for me to try it out…thoughts?

{ten} It’s Dad’s Weekend for AXO here at KU and I am SO excited to get to hang out with my dad! There will be plenty to catch up on via the Instagram stories so make sure to follow over at @xoxoallisonnicole to follow along!
