1// J.Crew ‘Do’s and Don’t’s Lists’ are always some of my favorites of the whole year! This time around is no exception.

2// super intrigued by this chocolate chip cookie recipe. I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like & the secret ingredient in these is seriously so interesting! Must try!!!

3// spring break has been pretty rainy where I am from, which has also got me listening to way too much Frank Sinatra…don’t knock it ’till ya try it because I never thought I’d be into that kind of music but I am HOOKED!

4// I am OBSESSED with this Anthro top. It is screaming “wear me to a summer neighborhood BBQ” and I am not arguing 😉

5// My music taste has obviously been expanding this week…& this cover of “Stand By Me” has me in love with Florence + The Machine. Too dreamy.

6// I’ll admit it. I’m a sucker for ruffles. (the food + the style!!!) Formal is sneaking up on me quicker than I’d like it too and I am sort of leaning towards ordering this dress from Altar’d State! Not sure on the bold color though…we shall see if I am willing to jump out of my comfort zone on this one!

7// If you are in need of a little mental retreat for yourself. Go see The Shack in theaters. I’m serious it is the best movie I have ever seen, like, ever. My grandma and I went yesterday and were seriously speechless after it finished. It covers SO MANY aspects of faith that you never even think about and the actors are perfect for each role. It touches on why tragedy occurs, forgiveness, relationships, and how hecka important it is to remember that every single thing that happens to you is in God’s plan and how naive we truly are to His power. Can’t say enough good things about it so you just need to go see it yourself!

8// I want EVERYTHING in Kate’s 25th “latest and greatest” post. everything.

9// I could watch this video for hours.

10// You’ll find me glued to the TV tomorrow night because my hawks are in the #eliteeight !!!!! Rock Chalk baby! REALLY hoping for a win while I attend the school and REALLY hoping I am not jinxing it right now…

until next time! TGIF!

spring break must-do’s !

After I failed to stick to my promise of getting my pal from high school (hey Maren) a “fall to do list so I can just do everything you tell me to and have the best fall ever” I decided a spring one was well overdue! Spring is seriously my favorite season to do just about everything, whether it be outdoor adventures, trying new recipes, or hitting the shops, so it wasn’t hard to create a little list of things I want to do over my soon approaching (10 more days!!!!) spring break!

spring breakmust-do's !.jpg

Have a picnic!!!!!! I have seriously been the biggest fan of picnics my whole life. I remember during the summer when I was a little kid making my mom pack my lunch for the day for my neighborhood friends I as if I was taking it to school. You would’ve thought I was at Disney World with how stoked I was to sit in the itchy grass and eat some cut up cheese and crackers and some fruit snacks. Although my taste buds have matured a bit (but don’t get me wrong, I still totally have fruit snacks in my dorm…) I am still 100% down for bites to eat and great weather. I am absolutely ALL OVER this Trader Joe’s Picnic list that I will definitely be using while grabbing the goods!

Make a “Cookie Jar.” So if Keeping Up With the Kardashians is a guilty pleasure for you like it is for me…you’ll know what I’m talking about with cookie jars! They are seriously the most darling additions to your island for any season and I am always down for a cookie…or two or five! This video of Khloe showing you how she creates her own jars is honestly the best how-to out there, might as well learn from the pro herself, right?!

More Yoga!!! I have been going to a decent amount of yoga classes at the rec center at school, but it will feel good to go back home and be at a familiar studio for a class or two! If I don’t get around to actually making it to the rec for a class, or if I miss the class that day…7:30 am uh oh…I LOVE LOVE LOVE these videos to just do by myself.

Spring Cleaning!!! There is seriously nothing better than a freshly cleaned room and nothing makes my mind feel more sane either. My dorm stays fairly clean for the most part…minus the pile of laundry here and there…but I can’t wait to be in my bedroom back home and go through my closet and get rid of things I simply don’t wear anymore. As I have gotten older, and especially this past year, I have for sure seen my style defining itself a bit more and becoming more and more simplified…or I’m just becoming more picky…probably a healthy balance of both. Anyways, I really want to just rid my closet of clothes I don’t see defining my personal style and really sticking to a wardrobe that makes me feel like myself and happy as well!

Get Reading!!! I have been loving trying to read more, and really want to keep up with it! There is something about diving into a fiction book that truly does let you escape from reality a bit and forget about the rest of the world. I came across this list of 26 spring books for women and am hoping to get at least two crossed off the list while I am at home! Any other recommendations that aren’t on this list??

Well that’s about it in terms of broad things I really want to do this spring! I’m always open for suggestions though so feel free to leave a comment of what your big goals are or what your’e currently loving! As for now, just keep praying I can get through these last weeks of class without actually being blown away by this wind…not cute Kansas.

Until next time, xoxo, Ally

March!!!!! This week literally flew by for me. Finally a week that has done that instead of drag on every single day! I was sitting in my room yesterday and actually had an epiphany that it was Thursday and tomorrow was Friday! I was so convinced that when my friend asked if my family was coming in tomorrow I said, “no they’re coming Friday.” Luckily she just smiled and went with it before I caught on later. Lol, with that delusion…here’s my links!

1// First thing’s first: it’s BOGO Macchiatos at Starbucks from 2-5pm through the 6th! You heard that right, a free macchiato…so run to your nearest Starbs and try the new coconut milk one ASAP because it is to DIE for!

2// I have a new blog that I have been loving to read! Dorothy from PrepInYourStep is a senior elementary education student who is currently in the process of student teaching so I have LOVED reading her blog posts. It is absolutely crazy to think that will be me in 3 years!!!!!!!! I remember having student teachers back in grade school and thinking they were SO old and mature…lol I hope myself three years from now can live up to that image!

3// Here is one of my favorites of Dorothy’s posts! Athletic wear to inspire activity!  The poncho and palm leaf leggings are my personal favs *heart eye emoji here*

4// If you have a dream career that you are nervous about pursuing. Watch this. Now. I am nerdily really into Ted Talks and so when my “career and life planning” (yes that’s a course I am taking…talk about getting my life together…) professor made us watch this on Thursday, I was obsessed! It is SO good.

5// So if you haven’t heard about the Brit+Co/Target partnership you have been under a rock. But seriously, I am so excited.

6// UH and incase they weren’t already the best brand ever in your mind…they have a pet version of their site too…yeah…2 paws up.

7// i LOVE Annie’s brand of just about anything (fruit snacks, cheddar bunnies, and the OG best macncheese EVER!) so this recipe for a Bunny Easter Cake featuring their Bunny grahams is on the top of my baking list this spring!

8// Speaking of Easter treats…this Pottery Barn inspired bunny garland is seriously the cutest thing. Pottery Barn always has the most darling holiday decor in their stores and this copycat is too easy and too cute. Our neighbors have an Easter brunch that I am hoping to make it home for this year solely for the Easter donuts and dang cute decor.

9// Speaking of Pottery Barn killing it as usual, I don’t know why I would need this sleeping bag, but trust me, when you see it, you’ll want it too..

10// My family is coming in town today before they leave for Orlando for their spring break…without me…haha. Wish me luck on having fun in Lawrence while they’re on the beach and let’s pray for beach weather in the midwest?? *fingers crossed*

until next time! Happy FriYAY!
