wow one less hour of sleep does somethin’ to ya. (okay let’s be honest i just slept in until 11 instead of 10 i’m not fooling anyone) but hey, any excuse to blog in pajamas and have an extra cup of coffee is an excuse I’m highly willing to accept. I haven’t sat down and updated you on my whirlwind of a life in forever so here are some updates of what i’ve been up to behind the blog:

last weekend my speech team and I traveled down to Lincoln for a meet and came home with two of our girls as national qualifiers (including the cutie Jenna pictured above). I love this team more than life and the giggles and dance parties in between rounds are my favorite things in the world. so congrats to Jenna and Claire and so much love for districts this Saturday! *fingers crossed*

I was born a Jayhawk and I’ll never be upset about that. My dad attended KU back when he was in college and our family has been seeing crimson and blue as the best color combo ever since. Tuesday my family was able to pull my siblings and I out of school for a little pre-spring break (except it’s just as cold in Kansas as it is in Nebraska don’t be too jealous). We headed down to Lawrence and had the time of our lives raiding the bookstore and cheering like no other at the basketball game (11th Big 12 Title was a win, like there was any other choice though).  Also if you’re ever in Lawrence take a pitstop at Muncher’s Bakery and grab a cream cheese donut or two, you won’t regret it. I loved KU and can’t wait to possibly be a future Jayhawk in a few years. Rock Chalk.

hm, what else. i’ve been obsessed with coffee and have over worn my vests, oh so nothing new. I am TOO excited for spring break and all of the fun and warm weather to come with it! IT IS CURRENTLY SUNNY AND ABOVE FREEZING IN OMAHA SO PLEASE GO OUTSIDE PLEASE. Hope you have just as many adventures as I do and that you love every single one of them!

so the amount of times i’ve been confronted about what i get from Starbucks is starting to get absolutely insane. but don’t worry i secretly adore it because giving the gift of delicious coffee and yummy drink secrets has to be one of the best gifts to give. now its no secret I’m a coffee addict and have mastered my Starbucks orders by now depending on my mood, the season, ect. so here are all of my tips and tricks in one place for you to look back to next time you’re in need of some coffee counseling 🙂

Pumpkin Pie in a Cup:

i prefer this stuff in the fall and have never tried getting it any other time but i imagine it’s just as delightful. just get an “Oprah Chai Tea Latte” with two pumps of pumpkin spice and it’s the amazingness of the pumpkin spice latte with an extra kick of cream and flavor from the chai and it’s all around fantastic

Girl Scout Cookie Lover

so if you’re like me and a huge (huge) fan of carmel delites from the always appreciated Girl Scout community you’ll love this one. You can get it warm or iced but just get a plain brewed coffee (your roast and size are up to you, i prefer medium) and get two pumps of carmel and ask for coconut milk as well, it’s to die for

The Classic

rolls off my tongue every other day in the summer and it’s my forever and always go-to pick me up

Vanilla Treat

for those days when all you need is a really over priced (but really freakin good) frappuccino (yes, those days happen) my favorite thing in the world is a simple and plain vanilla bean frappuccino with a shot of espresso. perfectly simple but still getting your extra kick of happy coffee in your day. i LOVE this. and never skip on the whip. that’s cheating.

Tea Time

for those days where caffeine isn’t needed but a refresh is, this is my savior. Very Berry Refresher with a shot of lemonade. make sure to ask for light on the ice because you want a ton of this berry good goodness, so a venti may be the solution. this stuff reminds me so much of summer and the real fresh berries in the drink add even more yum

i can’t honestly give this underestimated drink enough praise so please just try this once in your life and thank me later

so this monday it’s the nicest it’s been in a long time where i live (almost 40 degrees!!! WHOO!!) and with spring break a week away i’ve caught spring fever like crazy. I thought i would share with you some of the pictures and style inspo i’ve been crushing on lately to get you in the same warm weather/sandals/hot pink nail polish mindset i seem to be stuck in at the moment (but i’m not complainig)

there’s just something’ about royal blue and white that screams spring and summer to me and throw on these pretty gems along with it and you’ve got me head over heels

hello shift dress season!! there are few things i hate more than dress shopping but few things i love more than dresses themselves. this pretty pink makes me lust away for spring and spring flowers even more

alright I admit it I’m in LOVE with the navy and white stripe trend this upcoming season. LOVE. and the light washed denim with white converse adds the cutest relaxed vibe. again, LOVE.

i told ya, this denim and neon thing is catching my eye and those pretty neon baubles make it all the more fun!
